Ghost on Magic Pages
The easiest way to host a Ghost blog is to let the Ghost folks do it. The basic subscription is $11/month, and they do everything for you. However, on that plan, you can't use custom templates, and I really wanted custom templates.
So, I packed my things and moved the blog over to Magic Pages:
Magic Pages offers basically the same experience as Ghost Pro, but at only $6/month for the cheapest plan. For a plan that allows custom themes, it's only $15/month. That seems fair. They take care of hosting, updates, email, etc.
I was going to wait until Magic Pages integrated all the cool new ActivityPub stuff, but decided to go for it and worry about that later. What's cool is that I saw some murmuring in the Ghost panel suggesting that ActivityPub is close.
So here we are. New (old) theme on a new host. One nice thing about using a totally different domain for this, is that if I ever get over being mad at Hugo, I can drop back over to baty.net like nothing happened.
