Could Ghost be my Mastodon?

I'm interested in Ghost's Fediverse aspirations. Recently, Ghost (Pro) started allowing us to customize the username portion of the ActivityPub handle of our blogs. Instead of being forced to use "@index", it can be something like, say, @jack@copingmechanism.com. I'm feeling better about it.

The timing lines up with my increasing disenchantment with the current Mastodon situation. All the infighting and scolding has exhausted my joy around the whole thing. I'd like a reprieve from that, but without isolating myself completely.

Aaaanywaaay, I'm in a mood, and was wondering if I could use Ghost as a sort of single-user instance.

I can follow people right from Ghost's panel. I can reply and see replies. It's a low-key version of the Mastodon timeline, as far as I can tell. Is it enough? What am I missing?
