I already have two static blogs at baty.net and baty.blog. One is generated via Tinderbox and the other using Hugo. This site was meant to be a replacement for my Substack newsletter but I'm beginning to question its purpose.
Mostly, I like having an easy-to-update CMS such as WordPress or Ghost, which this blog uses. I like being able to just type and hit "Publish". I like the simplicity of dragging images into a post and having them properly embedded, resized, and uploaded. I like that all of the appropriate meta information is included for sharing, etc.
I'm paying around $12/month to run this instance at Digital Ocean. Not terrible, but if I'm not going to use it, I should delete it and move on.
